If you weren’t at our fuddle last night you missed a real treat! The brand new Ibstock morris dancers were trying out sticking and skipping for the first time and made an excellent job of it!
The good news is, they and you have the chance to do it all again as everyone is invited to my Solstice Walk & Party which is this Sunday, 21st December. The details follow, but first … another couple of Christmassy events to keep your voices in trim!
Monday, 22nd December – Radio Leicester community carols – various pubs around the county, but Alison will be at the Rising Sun Shakerstone.
Christmas Eve – Ruth & Sue will be singing and performing a mummers play with a few of ROOTS choir members at the Shoulder of Mutton, Oakthorpe, 7.30 pm.
Sue’s Solstice Walk & Party, Sunday, 21st December
Meet at Staunton Harold – 1.30 pm for a walk of approximately 4 miles over footpaths, lanes and fields to Breedon on the hill church to arrive about 3.30 pm.
If you don’t fancy the walk you can meet us there. It is possible to drive up.
Sunset is 3.54 to which we will bid farewell with music, singing and morris dancing.
We will arrange to have cars at Breedon for the return trip to Staunton Harold.
You will need good boots or shoes and possibly a torch.
6.30 pm onwards – Eden Tree Care’s workshop, Kendrick’s farmyard.
Lots of entertainment from CALLING TIME & YOU so bring your music, songs, stories, poems, and dancing shoes!
BRING YOUR OWN BBQ FOOR & DRINKS!
Fear not the cold! The building will be heated!
If you can’t make any of these … have a very Happy Christmas and see you all in the new year!
