Hi Everyone, Would just like to share this fantastic recipe with you all. It comes from our choir member Shirley, hence the name!!
Shirley’s Fruit Loaf
8 oz plain flour (brown if possible)
4oz brown sugar
6oz dried fruit (or more if you prefer)
Then in a large jug, as it will froth up
1 teaspoon bicarb
1 tablespoon vinegar
Rub in flour, sugar, marg. add fruit
Mix with the liquid
line a 2lb loaf tin pour in mixture
cook for 1/4 hour on 160c then.
1 hour on 150c
turn out when cool
I tried this as soon as Shirley gave me the recipe. It was very successful
